I was 330 lbs. I had surgery on February 20th in five weeks I lost 37lbs. But now I'm stuck in a plateau! I'm not sure when I'm going to see the scale change again the first four weeks each day I was a pound or 2 lighter but this past week and a half no change. Everyday I weight myself now it's the same. I am praying now to get out of the 290's and enter into the 280's and beyond. Anybody has advice on the Plateau and how to jump start the weight lost again? I'm still exercising and I consume around 350 - 600 calories per day . Is this too much food?

Peace and Love,

Michele

No, your not eating to much food. Depending on how much you are exercising, you may not be eating enough. I had my stall the 3rd week post-op. It lasted 10 days. Stalls are natural. We're going to experience them frequently during our weight loss. Maybe try only weighing yourself every 3 days or once a week.
As long as you are getting your protien and fluid goals, getting some form of exercise then you are doing all you can do. The rest is up to your body.

All this. My guess is you're not taking in enough food. It may see counterproductive but if you keep your calories too low your body is going to go into protection mode and do everything it can to keep from losing. Stalls are going to happen so might as well get used to it now! Just keep doing what you're doing and the scale will start to move again. Keep your carbs low and focus on good Protein sources. Bump your calories up a bit (maybe 100 per day) and see what happens. It's trial & error some times.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
