I am 3weeks out and usually can eat just fine but today - I had an awful pain after having a few bites cottage cheese. I've had bad pains since down my esophagus and the left of my belly .
I think I just ate to fast, maybe !?!?

Maybe, I was in agony last night and awfully sick, much better today but cant eat. I was just so worried.

How are you doing with yours and where did you have it done?

could be you're eating too fast, or it could be your stomach just isn't quite ready to progress yet. Or it could be a stricture. For now, just take it slower. If you continue to get sick or if you get to the point where you can't even keep liquids down, call your surgeon - it could be a stricture and you'll need to get it taken care of (I had two - at four weeks out and again at eight week out)

Try taking very small bites.Chew a lot.Eat slowly. If you don't do these you will feel sick. Also need to keep Fluid intake up.I found when I don't do these things I got really sick.

I spoke with my surgeon about exactly the same thing, he said the food that's getting stuck is food that will mush together like Mac an cheese and chicken and bolognaise but I'm fine with things like crackers and mash and Soups, he said just mix it up but take my time because every one is different but we will all get there in the end. Hope this helps x

I found that some foods just didn't sit as well as others once I started in the soft food stage. Take very small bites, chew really well and wait until the next bite to see if you have sick feelings. If so, stop eating that food and try another. I ate a lot of cheese in the soft foods stage. Mozzarella cheese sticks and baby bells were my go to foods during this stage as well as crab Soup (no veggies), meatballs and chili.

Same here, I've had two strictures. The Dr put in a stint yesterday for me. I had my surgery on Feb 9th and I'm still at the puree stage. I'm beginning to wonder if I'll ever chew food again.
You should probably call your Dr if your symptoms continue. It doesn't hurt to make a call.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
