Menstrual differences after being sleeved????

Recommended Posts

This is TMI

I've always been on the heavier side of my periods and they would last 7-10days

I'm experiencing my first menstrual and it's totally different. I'm barely cramping and I'm very light. I'm on day 4 and it's super light still.

What has been your experience?

Does it change?

Should I worry?

Is this normal?

I had my surgery on the 15th and was suppose to start on the 22nd but never started... Will I just be late or will I skip this month?

I was sleeved on March 1st. My cycle came right on time on the 15th, and I had the worst cramps that I've had in years and very heavy. It didn't last any longer than my normal 3 days, though.

I got my period the day after surgery because the universe is a cold and callous place. It's been WAYYYYY heavier than it usually would be, and I have a feeling it's gonna go longer, too. NOT a welcome change!

I started 2 days before my surgery, it was weirdly light after surgery. My next one after surgery came 4 days early and was horrendously heavy. But I had little to no cramping.

I've always had nasty, irregular, heavy, and long periods. I started, I think, 2 or 3 days after surgery and it was non-stop heavy until just before Valentine's day. It started up again on the 15th and lasted until just yesterday, heavy and non-stop. I thought maybe I could get a break, but nope. I started again today!

I am seriously at my wits end. My husband and I don't have sex because of it and he's on HRT to become a woman, so the meds make his genitals not work. I'm not getting to enjoy the last months of his junk working, and now I am crying about it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
