Nanaoffour 2 Posted March 26, 2017 I am wondering how long I would be out of work after surgery? Is a week sufficient time to recover enough to get back to normal?
asantiago 89 Posted March 26, 2017 Hello I would take more than a week. I took 4 weeks due to recovery and all. It depends on how you feel and what your doctor thinks. Don't push it. Health is first. Best of luck.
SlimStacey 44 Posted March 26, 2017 I went back to work after a week I was still sore but worked as much as I could and left early if needed. I had a sedentary job
Cookiecookie 8 Posted March 27, 2017 I work from home so I took off Thursday-Tuesday an returned Wednesday. Since you can consider muy job a desk job I can say I was in pain sitting on Wednesday maybe a week will do but everyone is different 1 SlimStacey reacted to this
hajoura-sweet 9 Posted March 27, 2017 I am wondering how long I would be out of work after surgery? Is a week sufficient time to recover enough to get back to normal?I did the surgery on 20.03 so about 1 week ago.. and i am taking next week off work. That seems to be perfect. 2 weeks in total is enough i thinkSent from my SM-G935F using BariatricPal mobile app
SlimStacey 44 Posted March 30, 2017 Yes, I agree I should've taken a little longer. I had a sitdown job but it killed me sitting all day. My clothes sat on my incisions and it was just uncomfortable.
wiresandwood 15 Posted March 30, 2017 I was off work for 4 weeks. I don't think I would have felt comfortable going back after only 1-2 weeks, even though I work in an office. 3 weeks might have been doable, but I didn't want to risk it. I was in quite a bit of pain for the first couple of weeks. I think it's beneficial to have time at home to get used to your new way of eating and let your body heal. Lauren PB 19 Posted April 10, 2017 I took 2 weeks and it ran into spring break, which is nice. I am a TA and move classroom to classroom. I get light headed spells so I am glad I took the extra time.

Ravensgrl 19 Posted April 20, 2017 I was off 6 weeks, but I have a very active job as a nurse. I probably could've gone back at the 4 week mark, but I was glad I had that extra recovery time and time to adjust to the new eating routine
