CocoNina 210 Posted March 25, 2017 What do you think of the ingredients? It's low fat, low carbs, & low calories - so do you think it'll be okay to eat? If you tired it, does it taste good to you?Halo Top: https://www.halotop.com/us-vs-them/Height: 5'0"Weight for WLS consultation: 216 lbs.Surgery date: 2/13/17Goal: -71 lbs for healthy BMI (about 145 lbs).Current weight: 180.8My profile picture is not me. Jesm1029 101 Posted March 25, 2017 You can eat the serving size which is 1/4 cup to stay low in carbs but it does taste really good I like strawberry 2 LeaninLanc and CocoNina reacted to this
SalZ 16 Posted March 25, 2017 I personally have never had it, but I saw many post it on a closed FB group I belong to. Just keep your portion in check and you should be fine. Enjoy it! 1 CocoNina reacted to this
EmmyJ 184 Posted March 25, 2017 I had it pre-op and I enjoyed it. I liked the lemon cake flavor myself. 1 CocoNina reacted to this
IveGotThePower 395 Posted March 25, 2017 Just tried it today and chocolate is quite delicious I look forward to trying other flavors. But yes, we still have to watch our portions, but I think it is a doable option. I was doing frozen bananas in the food processor, but pretty sure this has a lot less carbs. Less natural, but less carbs. 1 CocoNina reacted to this
CocoNina 210 Posted March 26, 2017 Thank you all. I think it's too early for me to try it yet since I'm only 6-weeks post op. But summer's around the corner & I do need my (healthy) ice cream fix when that time comes. SassyScienceNerd 213 Posted March 27, 2017 I love Halo Top! The salted caramel, red velvet, and mint chip are my favorites. My kids love it too, it's hard to keep it on hand once they find out it's in the house. Just watch the portion and enjoy it, it's a great treat. And I don't see why you couldn't have it 6 weeks out, it's a soft food. 1 CocoNina reacted to this

I've lost 37 lbs so far (I haven't updated my signature yet) & in my mind I feel once I'm at goal or close to goal I can start to slowly re-introduce some of the things I loved to eat like (halo) ice cream (in moderation of course). 1 Dashofpixiedust8 reacted to this
MBird 298 Posted March 28, 2017 I think it's a great practice to cut crap out of a healthier diet and just eat that sort of thing once in a rare while and in small, very small portion.I left the Facebook group because all anyone did was post about the crap they wanted to eat rather than truly healthy recipes. It got old and it was totally obvious how so many had eating disorders they didn't want to address. So sad to me and I'm far from perfect but try at least. 2 Dashofpixiedust8 and clc9 reacted to this
Dashofpixiedust8 1,469 Posted March 29, 2017 I've tried it before surgery. As usual some flavors were better than others. I did not enjoy the chocolate flavor. As listed on the carton it is much better if you let it sit out a few minutes before eating, then it has more of a true ice cream texture! 1 CocoNina reacted to this
Delta_35 129 Posted March 29, 2017 It is very good, I enjoyed the caramel flavor. However, I do not recommend eating this within the first few months after surgery. Focus should be on settling into your new eating habits...a spoonful here or there is not going to hurt, but don't let it become a habit. 2 Dashofpixiedust8 and CocoNina reacted to this
