Good luck ladies! I feel your nerves, I'm now waiting for insurance approval. When I went into the hospital for my scope that was the first time I've even had an IV in my arm.

Thank you [emoji16][emoji23]

Wow, not long now. You'll be great and will have no regrets, I'm sure. You sound like you have the exact right mind set to make a positive out of this. What surgery are you having? it still says 'undecided' on your profile. I'm 6 days post op from my Gastric Plication and am feeling great. No pain today, a couple of walks with my dog and husband, a couple of hours lying in the sun (sunny Australia) a few household chores... a really good day. You'll be feeling like this in no time too and will get a new boost in life. If you have any nerves, it's perfectly normal and understandable. If you didn't I might wonder if you hadn't researched enough, but as have you know it's not all roses It means you have made an informed decision to change your life. All the very best to you. Keep us posted, we're all here to cheer you on.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
