Hi,

I've been post lapband for 1year and six mths...lost 110 lbs..but, still flucuating..sometimes gain 10 and loose 10...I'm going in for my 6th fill...this afternoon. Dr. Adam Smith did my surgery last year. Very good doctor and he has another Dr. Fuerro, that works with him in the Ft. Worth, tx office. Both are very good.

I've done pretty good over the year...I don't think I'm loosing as quick as I should...but, the Dr. isn't complaining. I do know that I have angel wings...you know the loose skin hanging under my arms. That was one part of my body that was really big..I'm 58yoa, 5'2", but, have an hour glass figure. I'm active, I just can't wait till I can get this loose stuff off my body. I work nights, 10-6, so I don't exercise as much as I would like.

I'm having trouble eating, because I can't seem to get the red meat :omg:down, and sometimes the chicken doesn't go to easy. Potatoes, okay, gravies okay, but, can't eat fried potatoes..thank goodness..I need a list of acceptable foods I could try that aren't so fatening. I can't eat lettuce, or hamburger meat. Any body have any Ideas...I'm not a cook, don't like to cook, but will because I have to. Hope to be meeting some of yall. I live in Granbury, Tx...so if there are any fellow lapbanders e. mail me...God Bless yall. gardentre55@yahoo.com.:kiss2::faint:

CONGRATS! 110 lbs lost is AWESOME!

Ground meat works best for me unless the meat is super tender (like stew beef or crock pot tender) Revisit the RULES... I consider myself a newbie at 5 months... but I try to focus on my protien and water!

GOOD LUCK! and keep posting :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
