Tiale 20 Posted March 24, 2017 Ok I know that I've had PCOS for years now but every physician I see, makes it seem as if it all in my head. I've always struggled with weight and the more I put on the more hairier and acanthosis areas I get, and it's embarrassing. So anyways I got my testosterone tested and it's extremely high 147 for total and 16 for free I think. So I was worried about my test results but my endocrinologist makes me feel as if it's nothing. Can any females experiencing PCOS give me some much needed advice [emoji5]
jhope71 105 Posted March 24, 2017 Hi! I've struggled with PCOS for years. It took several doctors to find one that took me (and PCOS) seriously. I would try a reproductive endocrinologist instead of a general endocrinologist. They seem to know more about things we struggle with. Best of luck, and feel free to ask me anything! mlbdl 86 Posted March 24, 2017 I have it, and hypothyroidism, too. I agree that a reproductive endo would be better, or even a gynecologist. There are PCOS groups out there that can direct you to PCOS-educated docs. Where do you live? I'm happy to answer your questions, too.

I was out in BC and metformin to help symptoms and the BC got rid of all the excess hair and he metformin curbed the appetite a little but not enough to really help-probably because I needed a higher dose. Hang in there, but definitely see a new Endo.
