Hello everyone just wanted to share my weight loss story with everyone. I was 345 pounds and my liver was not in good shape. I was so sick of being over weight my body was producing a large amount of insulin and the drs. Couldn't get it under control so it's caused me to gain 100 pounds in 1 year. I started checking into weight loss surgery but never thought I'd have the chance to have it done. I was thankful for my insurance approving my weight loss surgery. I have a 6 month process I had to do before I could have my surgery. I went from 345 to 236 in those 6 months. After surgery was not as bad as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong those first 3 weeks I thought to myself many times "what the heck did I do to myself" but so thankful for the surgery. I am now 9 months out from being sleeved and I am down to 221 pounds in those 9 months. I have lost 124 pounds since I started all this.it was work every pound. I would have surgery again in a heart beat. It saved myself. It made me feel my own age again ( 24 years old). The weight loss surgery saved me in many ways. My weight loss has slowed down some. Yes I had time where I got off track and ate bad and didn't work out. But I pushed myself to get back on track. My goal weight is 180 and I'm determined to meet that goal. Hope my story helps anyone who don't think the surgery it worth it..because it is!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
