Not being able to eat!?

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, so I'm 3 days post op sleeve and I can not eat! I have no desire to eat or drink anything. I take small sips of broth and Protein Shakes but only a couple. Water goes down fine too. I'm scared to get that full feeling because I honestly do not want to throw up! So I always stop before I feel full.

I had nausea the first 2 days but now it's gone. I don't want to become dehydrated or malnourished. How often am I suppose to be eating ? And how much ? Please give me some advice. I really want to do this right !

You shouldn't be eating yet anyway.. I wasn't until well over a week.
What your doing is exactly what you are suppose to be doing. You won't feel a full feeling yet as you are on liquids , it's really bizarre I know lol
When ever u want to drink the broth or Water u can.. don't leave it too long in between lie more then a few hours especially if your in a hot region.. I'm in Australia so I always was drinking lol
Go by what ever your Dr or dietician has said.. you will be ok!! [emoji5]

Water passes through the stomach relatively fast, so unless you're taking a large sip/gulp you shouldn't end up with a full feeling. If you don't have something in the house already get a container to properly measure how much you're drinking. I reused a 32 oz Powerade bottle that I filled up with Crystal Light drinks or plain water. If I drank two full bottles then I knew I was getting my minimum 64 oz of water in each day.

The first two weeks it seems like a full time job just to keep up on your fluids. Stay on a steady pace and take a sip of something every 10-15 minutes. If you do end up with a full feeling then space things out a bit longer. The desire not to want to eat/drink anything is totally normal. I had no desire the first two weeks for anything.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
