I am only 10 days post op and I can eat one scrambled egg. From everything I've read, people can't eat more then 2-3 bites without feeling full. Should I be concerned that I can eat one whole scrambled egg and don't feel that way? I'm content after I eat it and I don't feel sick.

Great question! Every body is different, and the most important thing is that you eat VERY SLOWLY. Our stomachs nerves are still healing so you may not get that "full" feeling right away. Look for signs of fullness like burping, hiccups, chest tightness, heartburn, even sneezing or coughing. These can all be indicators of fullness. It should take you about 10-15 minutes to eat that scrambled egg. As long as you are taking your time and not getting sick I don't see a problem.

Initially I was able to eat that amount and I worried my sleeve was 'too big' or something. 8mth on I find that that is just pretty much the amount my stomach holds. I think I was lucky to heal fast and be very well from early on, but am super relieved that as time has gone by I can't actually eat too much more then what I was able to eat from a few weeks out.

Thank you guys so much. Yes, I take my time and eat very slowly. I'm glad there isn't something wrong with me.

One thing I'd caution you about is to not get overconfident in eating the same items. Like the others said we're all react differently, but in the early stages one day I could eat an egg and be perfectly fine, the next day I'd eat 3/4 of one and feel stuffed and miserable. Regardless of what you're eating just be sure to take your time and chew the hell out of everything.

Thank you! I will. I try to make my meals last as close to 30 minutes as possible.

Reason I said that is because I didn't pay enough attention once or twice and ate too fast and pretty much wanted to die afterwards...lol. It can be really difficult to pace yourself with only a 1/2 cup of food when I was used to downing an entire plate of food in 5 minutes.

With time you'll start to read your body better and will be able to tell when that full feeling is beginning to creep up and slow down or stop entirely. It's just extra hard in the early stages when healing since all the wiring between your stomach & brain is screwed up.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
