Shell Renewed 176 Posted March 22, 2017 Even if it didn't feel bad, please don't do it. Your sleeve is inflamed, full of stitches, and healing, so it's important to take your post-op care guidelines seriously to avoid complications. Don't think of it as a diet at this stage...It's a post-surgery recovery prescription. 3 Jamocoa, The thinner me and batgirl reacted to this
Navigating the Wilderness 824 Posted March 22, 2017 Yes and no. I had a sore throat a couple weeks back and popped a couple lozenges without thinking about the fact that they were full of sugar. The next two days I felt like complete crap. Headache, constantly hungry, tired etc. 1 Jamocoa reacted to this
blizair09 3,250 Posted March 22, 2017 Nope. Not even once. 2 MowryRocks and Jamocoa reacted to this
907city2farmgrl 22 Posted March 22, 2017 I wouldn't say I forgot but I did have a moment at post op week 4 or so when I was making my hubby dinner and I popped a Pasta noodle in my mouth to see if it was al dente.. It was more of a mindless habit kind of thing. I was pretty irritated with myself for not being more aware. 3 Jamocoa, neeBoston and Bears_Chick reacted to this
Crankz 8 Posted March 22, 2017 I can totally see how that happened so don't be ashamed. Hopefully you feel better though. I'm 8 days out of surgery and, I'm having all these weird cravings so I've stayed clear of the cooking for the family. Yet if you don't have that luxury I can so see how that a mishap would happen. Even with my three Dude's all in the kitchen cooking for themselfs, talking about food, the smell of the food I'm having weird anxiety over it. First of all they are messing with my stuff lol. Then they are having fun without me rolling out pizza dough, talking about eatting globs of cheese and, pepperonies. AHHHH!! They are make me want to run in there and, act like Cookie Monster. Mmmm yum yum yum You ever realized how he would chew up the cookie yet he never ate it? That was running through my mind over and, over as they where waiting on their homemade Pizza to be finished lastnight. Anyway hope I made ya feel better and, you realized you are human. We all make mistakes 😉 8 shawnak911, jnicoll1, ThickGirl5683 and 5 others reacted to this
1poundatatime 174 Posted March 22, 2017 This morning I was pouring my little guy a bowl of multigrain cheerios. One spilled onto the table and almost picked it up and popped it into my mouth. I didn't. Actually I didn't even pick it up. But it made me aware of all those little mindless food habits I have... 3 Jamocoa, Bears_Chick and Lola4rmKona reacted to this
sleevedatlast 22 Posted March 22, 2017 I have forgotten. I was tearing up a piece of toast for the little ones and popped a piece in my mouth without thinking. I also took a huge drink of Water after a good workout... ouch! As long as we learn as we go, I'm sure it will all be fine. 4 MowryRocks, 1poundatatime, Jamocoa and 1 other reacted to this
ShelterDog64 2,364 Posted March 23, 2017 I forgot and gulped a huge glass of Water when I was about 2 weeks out....it was awful. It also kept me from EVER doing it again! 2 Jamocoa and starfishwish reacted to this
linasg 26 Posted March 23, 2017 Be kind to yourself. Mistakes happen. You've paid for that mistake and you are unlikely to repeat it any time soon. You will have many opportunities to make good choices again. All is not lost.
neeBoston 2 Posted March 23, 2017 I've been doing pretty well so far (I'm 22 days out) even with cooking for my family; but last night I was mixing up some tea for my youngest and I tasted it (sipped) to see if I'd put in enough mix forgetting that it wasn't sugar free. All in all, I had less than a teaspoon; but I'm glad I caught myself. I also feel good that I wasn't tempted to continue drinking it once I realized it wasn't sugar free. 2 Er1n and starfishwish reacted to this

Christina.Rose 287 Posted March 23, 2017 I think it is super helpful that the self righteous out there say no. Never. Impossible. Not me. Im awesome!!!!!........Ugh....anyways, I was making Peanut Butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids a couple days ago and licked the jelly off the knife. It dawned on me what I had done and immediately tried to rinse out my mouth with Water like some cartoon character that ate hot sauce. A sight to behold, let me tell you. I totally understand what you did. Its more force of habit than conscious eating. We need to be on high alert status whenever we are near food. Be careful! 5 inspired, neeBoston, LadyTay and 2 others reacted to this
