I'll have to try gravy. I have been using mayo.< br>

I bought a small jar of gravy just for that purpose. Nothing fancy. I hope it makes it easier for you. [emoji4]

BBQ Sauce sounds good. I'll have to look for that. Thank you for the ideas. I wish I ate fish but I don't.

I found a low carb, sugar free BBQ Sauce (dg Hughes) and put it in a crockpot all day with chicken breast. By the end of the day it was soooo soft. Put in the processor to purée. Was delicious, high Protein, low carb and filling.

That sounds amazing! I'll have to find this BBQ sauce. Thank you!

You're so right! Even pre-op diets have varied! My pre-op wasn't all liquid like some others. It's too bad you're lactose intolerant. Have you asked your doctor if there's anything like a supplement you can take to make dairy more tolerable? If not, no worries. I'm sure they've given you plenty of other options. I'm personally looking forward to pureed foods starting Tuesday because I made Eggface's ricotta bake and froze it. I just hope I can tolerate it. That and scrambled eggs. I've heard so many haven't tolerated scrambled very well but they can do other forms of egg. I wonder why that is?

Not sure how much truth there is to this but my nut said that many don't do well with scrambled eggs. She said she thinks it has to do with the scrambling part and possibly putting too much air into the eggs and that doesn't sit well in the new pouch. I do hard boil and over medium and that sits just fine. [emoji846]

I could see that, the air in scrambled eggs. Maybe that's why in my instructions it says to scramble them as usual and then purée them before eating. I wonder if people are just eating them business as usual.

I love eggs thank goodness. I make scrambled eggs with lactose free cottage cheese every morning. I'm so happy I tolerated them. I also like them hard boiled and mashed with light mayo.

I find pureed food disgusting. I tried it a few times and gave up. I went with refried Beans, mashed potatoes and some cream Soup from the barattic pal store. Filled in the rest with Protein drinks.< br>

Funny...I didn't like refried beans pre-op. I bought a can just in case my tastes have changed. We'll see on Tuesday when I switch to pureed foods. Just might be my new favorite thing. [emoji4]

Ugh man I hope I can tolerate scrambled! I love eggs that way! If not, I'll try other ways but it won't be the same.

I'm also looking forward to trying mashed cauliflower. I think the one I bought is the Green Giant brand. I also can't wait to try the ricotta bake. I pre-made it and froze it last week.

I was sleeved 3/15 and I scramble them English style. Use a small saucepan and spray non stick olive oil. Crack egg in saucepan then put stovetop on medium. Constantly stir and when it gets thicker take off heat (constantly stirring) for about 5-10 seconds. Keep doing that until the eggs are soft. I have been eating them since I started purée on Wednesday and haven't had any issues. It's my favorite thing to eat!!! Good luck- let me know if it works for you!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
