Just popping in to see what's going on...looks like everyone's busy doing stuff.

No, Eileen, I don't think we're calling you an ape, but that's funny anyway!

I've made not one, but two birthday cakes this morning. That was pretty fun. Other than a load of laundry, which is extremely fun as everyone here knows (!), there's not a lot going on....and THAT is nice!

Nighty-night...hugs to all,

Cindy

I worked on the community newsletter for my subdivision all week. I have to present it to the board on monday evening for approval. I also have to decide if I want to take over the social commitee by monday. I was offically offered the position this morning. It's a mess right now, the old officer let too many personal issues get dragged in and the board wants a fresh outsiders face running things. That's where I come in, I'm new and neutral with everyone. I want to do it, but it's a ton of work. $8,000 worth of parties each year, plus potlucks and pool parties (we have a pool in the community so those don't cost anything) I'll most likely take it, but have asked that I be able to ask a few people to step out until they have calmed down. It's seems like it's been the same 8 or 10 ladies for 6 years, and the parties are all the same. New faces, new ideas. I want to get more kids involved. We have a great mix of kids around here. That's my weekend, tomorrow is laundry. ~Mandy

Oh, I made tilipia for dinner and it was really good. I used McCormik's fish batter on it, I will be buying that again. It was 1 cup of the batter mix and 2/3 cup Water. Made a great English style breading. It would be good on shrimp too. ~M

Well, got the kiddo to bed, and I am going to be right behind her. There is a reason God gives you kids when you are young!!! I am too old to chase around a 2 year old!!!

I am not sleeping well at all, I can no longer sleep on my back, the mess on my thyroid, causes too much pressure on my trachia, and my air gets cut off, so I wake up gasping and heart racing...time after time, after time! Many years ago I was a side or stomach sleeper, then I hurt my back, so I trained myself to sleep on my back---now untraining is taking just as long!

I see you in here Penni---miss your posts---hope all is well, I think of you often, everytime I read a Nora Roberts book, or catch Ghost Whisperer!!!

Ok girls, I am off to bed....see ya tomorrow!!

Eileenie, I did NOT refer to you as an ape, you know I love you too much to do that, I can think of a few other names tho, like shugums, sweetsie, Mama of NJ thread, but thanks for bringing me back :Banane10:

Cindy, glad you're having some down-Cindy time.

Kat, it's so funny, I was in Sams the other day, and this 2yr old was screaming and throwing a fit, this man said, "boy, I don't miss those days" and I said to him, what you said, "that's why we have em young". I so love my gkids, but I do not like all nighters, I need all the beauty sleep I can get.

Went to hear the Beach Boys Friday night, went to a fund raising gala, got to dress up, catch a limo, didn't get in til 3:30 in the AM. We had a great time, although the BB were awful.

We were standing at the bottom of the stage, as a matter of fact, that's where we sat our drinks while we were jamming, lol. The two originals...talk about oldies, just mimed the songs, made little waves and motions with their hands, but that was it. Then I told the old guy playing the "mini" piano, that I wanted his hat, then he rubbed his fingers together, indicating it would cost me. So I held out a $50.00 bill, he laughed and said, "you're a thousand dollars short"....A$$

Mandy, the social committee sounds like lots of work and a lot of time, just warning ya.

Sherry what kind of class is that, sound like something I need, energy and therapy :Banane10:

Hugs girlies, gotta run get my badge...you Pogo(ers) know what I'm talking about :biggrin1:

(just used the edit, what pain in the a$$, got so busy fixing all that chit that comes up, almost forgot to fix what i came back to fix)

Mandy, forgot to ask, does that make a puffy batter, like on the poopoo trays? I like a puffy batter, but not too thick any ideas chickies?

Sheesh, do I always spell this badly? Had to come back and do spell check on this one too....ok I did say spell, not smell!

It is a nice light batter. Not too thick. About half as thick as the batter at long john silvers. (they use pancake batter) It reminds me a real fish and chips. Think british pub fish. I think if I have turned it a few more times in the batter it would be more of a tempura type batter. My mom also said if I used seltzer or club soda it would have been a lighter, fluffier batter. I used plain ol' Water. ~Mandy

Howdy Pat, Mandy, Cindy, Eileen, Betty and everyone else I can't see cause I forgot to hit "go advanced" hahaha.

Pat - IET (Integrated Energy Healing) it's a type of holistic healing that uses accupressure like points called integration points. At these points the flow of energy comes close to the surface of the body and is where the transfer of energy is very efficient. With IET we work on clearing the cellular memory of the bad memories, feelings etc and replace it with positive, healing energy. Lots to it but, I just finished the basic course. There are actually 3 more levels of training in it I have to go through in order to teach it. That will probably take another year. I've already had a year of training in Reiki and I am teaching that to others now too. I'm really into all types of healing the body and mind including herbal, organics, aromatherapy etc. :Banane10: Of course this is only in addition to seeing a regular doctor. It was quiet eye opening yesterday and I'm glad I took the course :Banane10:

I'm actually thinking of signing up for a holistic online school to take a bunch of courses and get credit for them. Reflexology is another one I'd like to try so we'll see. The cash has to be there to pay for this stuff of course lol

How is everyone doing? Did anyone want to come to my house and do my laundry too? Man I don't like Sunday's for that but, then again when I get down about it I think back to the days where I actually had to sit at a laundramat and do it ...yeap it's not so bad now ;)

Love yas

Sherry, you silly girl, you can still go advanced, even after you start your post :Banane10:

That is some cool stuff you're into! No joking, I think that is so interesting, just a lot to absorb, would love to have the nerve to do the accupuncture.

Mandy, never thought about the pancake batter, but I suppose it would work. All this chat about food, I'm going to call my mom to go eat.

Hey Diane, Betty, the rest of you ladies, where in the heck are you?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
