Look for sugar free stuff instead. Fat free may still contain a lot of sugar. Sugar is the real enemy

Frozen yogurt is not a good choice. The carbs and sugar are going to impede weight loss, and there is no Protein in it. Protein and Water should be your main focus right now.

It has a lot of carbs. I have it every once in a while.

At that stage, you are just begging for dumping syndrome with frozen yogurt. I have it every once in a while now and it can still give me the sweats.

My preferred dessert substitute is Fage plain yogurt with Torani Syrup. There are tons of the to choose from. Right now my favorite is coffee liqueur, but in the past it was salted caramel. Mix a teaspoon of that with a few ounces Fage and then stick it in the freezer. Depending on how good your freezer is, you can have decadent "frozen yogurt" in about 30 minutes.

@BigViffer, I'm new to this but I thought you weren't supposed to get "dumping syndrome" with the sleeve? @KiKi27, I love the HALOTOP ice cream, low calorie, high Protein, low sugar - satisfies my sweet cravings. Of course I don't eat the whole pint though?!

Not a yogurt answer, but if you freeze a cup of pudding its like gelato/heaven.....to me!

You are less likely to experience it, but it is most definitely a possibility. First time it happened to me was with an iced coffee drink. It was horrible. Slimy mouth, sweats, rapid heart rate, and then the trip to the bathroom. Bypass patients will have it happen more frequently and with more extreme symptoms, but sleeve patients can also experience it.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
