So I am nine days post-op and I have to take my Vitamins. Does anyone know how long until I can take a pill Vitamin? These are just terrible and make me nauseous.

Am I doing it wrong by adding it to 6 oz of Water?

If it's smaller than a m&m it's okay too swallow. But swallowing pills is hard and fulls you up fast.
They make vitamelts that melt on you tongue that taste amazing at Walmart. I'm 9 months post op and never had any trouble with my blood work.

Thank you! I will look for these. I'm not allowed to take capsules for one month so I need something until then.

I started taking Vitamin pills seven days after surgery. I've been doing that ever since with no problems.

Thanks for the information, I will definitely purchase those. I have issues now swallowing Vitamins, they always feel stuck and give me indigestion.

My surgeon said not to worry about any Vitamins the first 2 weeks, just hydration and Protein Shakes. I was told to wait a minimum of a month for any hard tablet pills and to crush them first.

Going into my 7th week after surgery and I went to taking my capsule multivitamin! Chewable's are disgusting! I still take the chewable Calcium but will replace that stat as well.

The chewables are the absolute worst. It takes all the willpower I can muster to take them and not gag. I can't wait until I'm cleared for regular vitamins!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
