momto6kids 21 Posted March 16, 2017 I had my surgery Monday and I feel awful!! I had horrible gas pains that have gotten better but now I'm left with a Extremely bad headache and can barely tolerate tiny sips of Water. Please any words of encouragement will be greatly appreciated. I feel like I've made a huge mistake.

Jinyinjin 34 Posted March 16, 2017 Are you up and walking or rocking? I know walking helped me a ton. I had my surgery last Wednesday. I hope you start feeling better soon. 2 aprilsdiamond and momto6kids reacted to this
momto6kids 21 Posted March 16, 2017 I came home on Tuesday and I should of stayed one more night. I have been walking a lot. I made a Protein Shake and have only managed to get about 5 sips down over the past 30 min. When does the pain stop in your stomach the minute the food or liquid hits it. That's half the reason I don't drink because it's so painful. 1 Jinyinjin reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted March 16, 2017 Headache is the first sign of dehydration. If you are not getting your fluids in you need to go to the Emergency room/Dr Office ASAP.
LittleLizzieLilliput 919 Posted March 16, 2017 How much Water do you think you've been able to get in since coming home? You should start logging all of that now, just an FYI. I was in a great deal of pain the first week. Are you on any pain meds?

Try exhaling through your nose before you swallow and see if that helps.
aprilsdiamond 30 Posted March 16, 2017 I had my surgery last Wednesday and the first few days were horribly painful as well and I am still struggling with pretty bad heartburn whether I drink or not. I agree with others about trying to walk as much as you can tolerate since that will help speed up the healing process in general. Also, I recently bought the Isopure Protein Water which has made it much easier to get in decent amounts of both water and protein at the same time. Each day you'll be able to get in a little more liquid, be patient but persistent
