Getting my sh*t together!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I was sleeved in October of 2016 and I'm thrilled with the results. My starting weight was 345 and I am down to 255...

However, for the last month or so, I haven't been eating well. I do my Protein Shake for Breakfast religiously but that's about it. I find myself snacking and whatnot, even though I am only able to eat a small amount.

I have a very active job as a server in a restaurant and I am running around all day. So I have still been losing weight. But the weight loss is noticeably slower.

I'm terrified that I'm going to gain weight back. And the fact that I am still losing weight after eating so bad is scary too. I feel like I have no consequences for my actions because I am still losing weight.

I know I am over thinking. But I spent a year trying to get this surgery and now that I have it I am terrified of losing it. Any tips on getting back on track? Why am I still losing? I'm open to any and all advice/suggestions and I'm hoping I'm not alone with this.

Are you paying attention to the nutritional information regarding what you're snacking on? Caloric intake? Carb intake? Meeting your daily nutritional needs?

At some point people's body will stop them from losing any more weight, but that's why you rigorously stick to a strict diet to find out what that new normal is. It will likely rise a tad, then plateau, when it's settled. However, if you're slipping to eating bad food, it can easily be a cause of gained weight as well. No way to tell from here.

I am about 4 1/2 months out and can relate. The past couple of days I found myself craving certain foods and was grazing, which I haven't done before. I started to freak out too and started getting anxious. We both need to kick it into high gear and remember why we had the surgery. Today is going great and I know I need to track every morsel that goes into my mouth and eat via my plan. You can do it too. One day at a time. We are worth great health.

I am almost 3 months post op and I feel hungry a lot. I try really hard to be Protein heavy and avoid carbs, except for fruit.
Protein shakes make me vomit. I have found a protein supplement that actually is tasteless and fully dissolvable in all liquids, hot or cold- but it is only an additional 11 grams of protein.
Why do I feel hungry?! I feel so guilty because I keep ending my days around 900-1000 calories instead of 600-800.
I have plateaued in weight loss again. I started at 313 and I'm at 270 and have been for about 2 weeks.
I hope your reset goes well.

I find myself doing shakes for breakfast too. Eating in the morning just makes me uncomfortable.. even the shake has to be chased down with a little coffee..
I sometimes graze but i take note of what I'm eating. 100 cals of saltines or 300 cals of nuts means something gets cut from somewhere... (usually lunch or dinner)

Hi carlychloe2, I was sleeved on September 20, 2016 and I was 266 before and now I'm 228. I can eat anything but lettuce. I'm at a stand still with weight loss and I'm scared I will fall back to

I have been struggling as well....8 1/2 months out of the sleeve. I don't think I am hungry, just grazing. Trying to curb the nighttime snacking, I go upstairs away from the kitchen....out of sight, out of mind. However, not getting the significant other support. "I understand, but...." doesn't work. Being angry at me for having to get away from food, doesn't help. No one can truly understand this addiction I have to food. I am not being dramatic. If I sit in the family room, next to the kitchen, I think FOOD, FOOD, FOOD. Battling this battle, don't feel like battling people too!!!!!

So frustrated, angry, tired....... I will not give up!!!

It is such a hard thing to explain and break. I find myself serving what was a normal portion and then feeling guilty when I can't finish it. If my son or husband have popcorn I can't walk away from it. I think about food- smells, tastes, textures, often.
I hope you find the help you need to break that cycle.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
