ready_forchange 39 Posted March 16, 2017 I talked to my doctor's office today, and I thought I had two more appointments until everything would be submitted. She informed me my insurance made some changes, and my last weigh in will be in three weeks, and everything will be submitted. I have bcbs. How long does it usually take for the approval process? I'm getting so excited, I cannot believe it is almost here. I'm struggling making changes because I'm in the faze eat everything I want because I won't be able to before long. Also I gained 4 pounds last month. Will that be an issue?
mochamommy727 36 Posted March 16, 2017 That's great that you won't have to schedule two more appointments before your paperwork is submitted. I have BCBS, too, but had six months' worth of diet visits before everything was submitted. Don't worry about gaining a few pounds. I did, too. Actually, I didn't lose any weight during the six months. I gained about eight pounds during this period and ended up losing four at the end, but my ending weight was still higher than my beginning weight. So when my paperwork was finally submitted on Friday, March 3, I was excited but also really worried about being denied. I was told it could take a few days or as long as a month to hear back from the insurance company, but I literally called BCBS every day to check the status of my paperwork. I finally received approval on Tuesday, March 14, so it only took about 1 1/2 weeks. I'll be meeting the surgeon in the next week or so to schedule a surgery date!
