Eating fast lesson learned.

Recommended Posts

Why oh why do I keep doing this. I just made home made pizza and ate it fast. Now I feel like I'm having a heart attack. The heart burn is so painful. I know it will subside but I must NEVER do that again. I have done it before and cried. But yet here I am again. Suck the lesson Learned. MIND OVER MATTER. I need to stop bringing back the old habits. Arggg

Thanks Nancy

Yep....easy to fall back into old habits. Did it the other night with some white chicken chili. Just wasn't paying attention while talking at dinner and took a few bites too fast. Hit like a sack of bricks and I was done eating. Didn't overeat or anything - just too fast.

I'm also having to put my drinks away when I eat. Still feels unnatural to not drink while eating. Did it this morning without even thinking about it. Makes me mad at myself but it's still a new/learning process on habit changes. For the most part doing really well but it's amazing how quickly old habits can creep back in.

I'm still learning this lesson. It will be like I'm starving and will eat a bit too fast and wham! Here comes the pain.

I feel like this is a lesson best learned by experience. The first time you drink too fast, eat too fast, or overeat, you learn that pain and you don't repeat it. That is our tool working as intended to help us break bad habits.

Could not agree more. Some times we just need to learn things the hard way.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
