I have no idea

Recommended Posts

My surgery was done in Nov. 2016. At first I thought "I got this, this is easy to do" but not true. I do not count my food intake. When I remember to take my Vitamins, I take them. I do my morning Vega shake, a regular lunch and dinner the size of my palm. I am losing weight but do not exercise because I never have time. Physically I feel fine the only affect I see is my hair is falling out like crazy. I know I'm not doing what needs to be done. I find that keeping track of everything is alot of work that I do not have time for. I dont know anymore. And I missed my doctor's appointment... #spiralingdownhill #advice #please

To be honest, you have to make the time. You either devote yourself to your journey, or you don't. The sleeve is just a tool, and it will only be as effective to help you lose weight and maintain a healthy weight as you make it. You have to change your relationship with food, eat and drink within defined parameters, and get up and move. If you don't, you will have put yourself through all of this for nothing.

I'm not trying to be harsh; I'm just being realistic. Please don't squander this opportunity.

You have to hold up your end of the bargain. That means tracking your Protein, drinking your Water, taking your Vitamins, and going to your doctor's appointments. That's just being an adult who takes care of their responsibilities resulting from choices they made (i.e. Having surgery). You don't have time to track protein? I don't believe you. It takes a minute. Your hair falling out is partly not in your control, but a small part could be lack of protein and vitamins - you can't know unless you are following the rules. As far as exercise is concerned, it doesn't really play a huge part in weight loss, but it is vital for overall health and wellbeing. Take a walk everyday. If you have a family, have them walk with you. It'll benefit everyone.

My advice is suck it up and stop sabotaging your health.

"I know I'm not doing what needs to be done".

Either do it or don't. Your choice.

If you can't wrap your head around it now, wait until you get to maintaining your weight.

Best of luck.

Nothing is going to help with the Hair loss -- but once your metabolism has stabilized, it'll grow back!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
