jenifreckles47 6 Posted March 14, 2017 Every Protein Shake I have tried tastes terrible to me. I am almost a week out. Anyone have any good suggestions? I have been eating cottage cheese, Greek yogurt and Soups that are all liquified down, but really struggling to get my Proteins and Water in. My mid-back aches and I just don't feel hungry. I am starting to feel a little weak. I have only urinated twice today. Anyone have any good advice?
CINNAMON 2015 43 Posted March 14, 2017 Hi, yes I do have something for you. It's called Protein Milk shake Bar. It has 22g of protein. They have a variety of flavors. vanilla Caramel & Rocky Road are very good. They are not yucky or gritty. I have used it with Water & with milk, it's good either way. I get mine through Amazon, but here is their e mail address.......www.proteinmilkshakebar.com phone..1-888-582-2580. Believe me I have tried several and this brand is by far the best. Trust me on this!! Good Luck!!!
shan0520 241 Posted March 14, 2017 Did you try Protein Water? I am preop and cannot stand the taste of protein mix or premade shakes. The water I use has 15g of protein in each serving and comes in different flavors.

rte837 141 Posted March 14, 2017 I Hated almost everyone I tried. The only one that was palatable to me was Isopure. Make sure you get the no carb one. Grape and orange, to ME, were the best. I didn't like the powder. And they tasted better cold. 1 jenifreckles47 reacted to this
DeeM 50 Posted March 14, 2017 I like the Bariatric Advantage. chocolate is the best. This sounds weird but it really taste different refrigerated overnight. I make mine ahead of time. When I'm running late or forget I change my meals around because I just don't like them freshly made. 1 jenifreckles47 reacted to this

hollidaye 21 Posted March 14, 2017 The thing about Protein is it's important to our survival after this surgery. Water, Vitamins and protein are our 3 must always do's. They sustain our heart function and brain function along with helping aide us in weight loss and weight management. If you notice yourself being tired or loosing hair or scatter brained or gaining weight check yourself and ask am I drinking 80oz of water every day? Am I taking the dr recommended vitamins? Am I drinking 25 grams of protein 2x a day? I have learned when anything is off inside me I am slacking off on one of those things! 2 jenifreckles47 and danaymacklin reacted to this
Norsemanlady 8 Posted March 14, 2017 These are the ones I have used-Pure Protein (Walmart, Costco), Click (The Vitamin Shoppe, Drink Click online) and Inspire (bariatriceating.com) I would also go to Bariatric Foodie site. She has many recipes to improve the taste of your Protein Shakes plus a great book called "The Bariatric Foodie Guide to Perfect Protein Shakes". It is well worth the price. Without this book I am not sure I would have survived the protein shakes. Best of luck. Hope this helps. 2 jenifreckles47 and danaymacklin reacted to this
