Hello,

It has been two years since my surgery date, and I have lost weight but reached a wall.

I am unsure on what a daily food journal should look like or where to start with proportions.

I need some guidance to get back on track with my calorie intake, nutrition and Vitamins.

Thank you in advance

Edit:

Also seeking how to maintain an active lifestyle with my sleeve and how to get more energy to partake.

Hi there,

So I just use a food tracking app. I stick to 5 meals a day of 4 oz of Protein. I get between 800 and 1050 calories a day (800 is more the norm right now but as I was rudely reminded recently I am only 5 months out so please don't actually take my advice if you feel I'm not qualified to provide it). I take Vitagene Vitamins so I don't even focus on veggies at all right now. Just protein and as low carb as possible.

Hopefully my recommendation is innocuous enough not to have someone be rude to me. lol! There are some really aggressive folks on this site...

I'm two and a half years out. I've lost a lot but would like to lose more. Unfortunately I've stalled big time. From everything I've learned from my surgical team, other people who've had weight-loss surgery, and others is this is entirely normal and expected. The dramatic weight-loss phase is over. Now it's about making good choices about what to put in your mouth. I'm upping my exercise and that's helping a little. I wish you good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
