SleevedinSI 58 Posted March 13, 2017 I'm three weeks postop and cleared to try purée/soft food. Ideas of where to start? I'm almost afraid to eat anything. 1 kbaton reacted to this
cajun_queen 94 Posted March 14, 2017 Baby food has been my goto. Refried Beans, mashed cauliflower, yogurt.
EmmyJ 184 Posted March 14, 2017 I've been having refried Beans, cottage cheese, Eggface's ricotta bake (yum yum), scrambled egg (be careful, it doesn't sit well with everyone), greek yogurt, thinned cream of wheat, and sometimes the creamed Soups from full liquid. Happy eating!

EmmyJ 184 Posted March 14, 2017 http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html Part of the Eggface blog, a very good resource! This page is all about the puree stage, including the ricotta bake recipe. 2 Bon Appetit and Fishing girl reacted to this

Fishing girl 5 Posted March 14, 2017 Still on Clear Liquids. Thank you for your response
kimberb 323 Posted March 15, 2017 Every bite you put in your mouth right now should always have protien in it. Protien is your goal right now. My plan does not allow any form of veggies until 3 months out. Cottage cheese, Greek Yogurt, soft cheeses. Beans, scrambled eggs. The ricotta bake is to die for. Love it. So easy to make. 1 char3672 reacted to this
caddygirl 208 Posted March 15, 2017 I'm 3 weeks post sleeve also! Is any one besides me not having a bowel movement everyday? I know we are not eating Fiber or carbs so I wonder if it's normal not to have a BM every day?
Fishing girl 5 Posted March 15, 2017 I make seven days today and am still on clear liquids. I can add Protein Drinks starting tomorrow with the clear liquids. I'm taking in nothing but liquid with Protein in it. It will be week three before I go to soft foods. I think my problem is my husband still has to eat. So smelling regular food when everything I drink is the same flavor is hard. I was on liquids a week to prepare for surgery. I almost can't make mysel swallow it anymore. I just pray I can go one more week. I cryed today Cottage cheese will taste like steak to me. I just think I'm having that depressing time that some people talk about. Thanks for the info. 1 Please reacted to this

clc9 644 Posted March 15, 2017 You can have benefiber to help yourself. I take 6 tablespoons a day to stay regular. Pardon the pun, but that's a sh!tload of Benefiber! The recommended dose is 2 teaspoons up to 3 times a day (total 2 tablespoons).
Ericann 2 Posted March 16, 2017 Yes, I agree but when I first started taking it I mis read and did 2 tablespoons then when I realized what I was doing I went to the correct dose and it didn't work. The 3 tbls keeps me regular I go once a day. 3 teas was not working. I wouldn't say for everyone to do that. I wouldn't want people to get diarrhea!
