Banded_Beauty 71 Posted March 13, 2017 My rant..... Maybe I'm just being a brat but I feel like I don't have support on my decision to have lapband. Yes I spent the money because I was tired of the struggle of not losing weight. Not that I still don't struggle but my lapband helps me. So yesterday I was told by my step mother that she's lost 39 lbs (same as me) that what helped her lose weight was the motivation that I got surgery and spent money and she was gonna prove that she could do it without that. Geeeee thanks! 😒 Mind you we never had a great relationship. Glad I could motivate you in such a way to make yourself healthier. Idk how to respond I was just like well I needed it and said I was happy I could help. But part of me felt like it was a jab and I even told my husband about it and he had no comment and I know he didn't because he also thinks I shouldn't have done the surgery and paid money for it. My step mother has been losing consistently but in 300 calories maybe 500 if that. Well I'm still enjoying my food and wine and losing weight not starving myself. Granted I have days I can't eat without being stuck all day but usually I can have a decent meal with no issues. Anyways I really can't help but feeling irritated that she said that. Idk but I do know I've tried and without my band I wouldn't have lost the weight I have so far. I know there will always be nasty comments but ugh it sucks. Especially feeling like she was pretty much laughing in your face like hahaha I lost weight and didn't spend all that money. Idk feeling irritated 😤
Walter.Sobchak 978 Posted March 13, 2017 Don't let her get to you. You are on your own path. You felt the band was best for you. You might see better long term results. 1 Banded_Beauty reacted to this
Bandy2sleeve 40 Posted March 13, 2017 She may indeed also lose the weight... but in my experience the real problem lies in keeping it off. For me, it was yo-yo dieting which made me fat in the first place. You just keep on walking forwards and be glad you have an awesome tool to help you on your journey. 4 Banded_Beauty, MamaRita, Treadmillwalker and 1 other reacted to this

enjoythetime 1,457 Posted March 23, 2017 It's a sad reality but there are many people that feel the need to put others down to make themselves feel better. Take all of the negativity and turn that into your motivation!!!! I don't know about you but nothing drives me more then when someone thinks I can't do something. You see them standing in the background, waiting for to see failure but when you succeed.....No words need to be spoken, it's in front of them and there's no denying your success and their nastiness! Good luck you've got this!!!! 2 Banded_Beauty and Treadmillwalker reacted to this
