txdiva 13 Posted March 12, 2017 I was sleeved 10 weeks ago and have only lost 23 lbs. I was wondering if we are supposed to be in ketosis throughout our weight loss phase?
Dairymary 533 Posted March 12, 2017 You are starting at a relatively low BMI so you shouldn't be looking for huge numbers or fast rate of loss. You have lost 10% of your entire body weight in just 10 weeks...2.4 pounds per week, which is actually great. Just keep doing what you're doing. Hit your Protein and Water goals, take your Vitamins, eat a healthy, balanced diet and stay off the scale if it's going to stress you out. BTW, I lost over 160 pounds and was never in ketosis. Some plans call for ketosis, but IMHO that's just setting you up for failure with an unsustainable fad diet. You should be learning new eating habits that will carry you through not only weight loss, but also weight maintenance. 2 IveGotThePower and Shana Lee reacted to this
IveGotThePower 395 Posted March 12, 2017 My nut said not to worry about staying in ketosis when I asked her. I lost about 11 lbs in a short time and thought that was why, and maybe it was, but completely agree with DairyMary about your diet needing to be sustainable. Focus on a healthy nutritious diet and follow the rules.
