I have the whole bad breath thing going on probably due to dehydration. . I get naaeaous anytime I drink anything whi,h makes it harder to consume . . I am getting discouraged because it's hard work !! But I keep pushing myself and saying everything will be okay . . Currently down 20 pounds since I started so that's my motivation . . Any tips on how I can consume more liquids ??

My doctor suggest phase 1 foods are soft and high Protein. 1 egg scrambled, Greek yogurt, cottage cheese, 1/2 cup refried Beans with 2 table spoons shredded cheese. These are just a few things. Try only one new food each day. Avoid any spicy seasoning. I'm 16 days out. I tried a scrambled egg 13 days post op and the pain was terrible! After that initial problem I have been doing pretty good. I just cannot drink or sip Water without terrible cramping and pain.

Try different temperature Water if it's cold try warm etc it's normal to have this issue this early on it usually comes rite I was terrible at the start now I can drink all temperatures fine now

I found yogurt and scrambled egg good to eat also had some cup a Soups

This shall pass be strong you'll be out the other side before you know it [emoji4]

I agree with Dlhandel. I am only 7 days post, but for the first 4 days I couldn't get anything in. Almost hot Decaf herbal tea really helped. Now at 7 days..This am I tried a poached egg. Was delish and I was able to get 1/2 down. No cramping or pain so far.

I could eat at that stage and even now 6 weeks later. Cottage cheese, hard boiled egg pureed with mayo, popsicles, Water sipping, shakes sipping, tuna pureed with mayo. Applesauce, yogurt. No more than 1 11/2 ounce or 2 ounces.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
