What's Your Favorite Workout?

Recommended Posts

We all have incorporated some form of workout routines to our new healthier lifestyles.

I gym religiously but I personally am in love with squats and planking. I'm getting better at it each and every time. I think this year will be a great year in my fitness journey as I try new things.

45 minutes of upper body weight lifting and the 45 minutes of HIIT with the butterfly stroke in the pool mixed in with free and breaststroke. Rarely do it but love the feeling of total exhaustion until just lifting my arms to shower is hard.

Big fan of squats and dead lifts. I know it is because prior to surgery my back was in constant pain and my left leg was being dragged behind me because of nerve pain. Just being able to do the motion of a squat or pick something up off the floor is novel. Doing it with heavy weights is surreal.

@dusky goddess - what type of squats are you doing?

Walking.

Yoga

Squats with lots of variations so you hit all the muscles.

Dancing--cause I'm good at it. I also love to lift weights, heavy and light.

Lately I've been focusing on rebuilding the muscle I lost during my weight loss phase. I do weight lifting every day (on different muscle groups) and then I run for about 20-40 minutes using an app that helps me run in intervals. It's awesome. I've seen great improvements in my muscle tone and my stamina.

Hello@BigViffer,
I do pile, pulse, sumo and barbell. Trying to get into one leg.
I would love to get into dead lifts now. But I want to do that under someone's guidance at the gym as I don't want to get injuries.

Hi@bellabloom, girl I wish I could run. Running leaves my left heel hurting for weeks and out of commission. Why I don't know. Keep it up!!

'Allo@Newme17, I don't have any rhythm so I'm jealous of your dancing skills

I have no Latin blood in me (mixed with white/black but I married one though). Even before I met him I was doing Latin dancing. No, not Zumba!!! Haha. I was really good, always dancing with my friend friend from Puerto Rico at the time. Folks were always asking if we were professionals. This is one more thing, after gaining weight, that I highly regret letting go. My husband doesn't know how to do Latin dancing. Tried to get him lessons at one point but he was just silly the whole time. So, I don't anymore. It hurts to move the way I need to. Once surgery happens, I think it should be a goal of mine to get back in it and get my husband to do lessons this time around, without all his silliness. 😜

Until then I just do JUST DANCE on the PlayStation with my girls. Such fun!!! You should try it!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
