travelergirl 142 Posted March 11, 2017 I'm pre-surgery. I went through my closet and gathered all the clothes that are too small and don't fit now....but will fit in a few months. So excited to be able to wear some old favorites again! 10 CharlyScott, aprilsdiamond, ProudGrammy and 7 others reacted to this
tenseintexas 182 Posted March 11, 2017 I just did this today . I still have about 15 more pounds to go- and I am still sacred to actually throw them away. I've never kept weight off so it is scary to pull the plug 6 Ldyvenus, CharlyScott, LauriT and 3 others reacted to this
MelMac72 20 Posted March 12, 2017 As soon as it's loose or a size too small, its out of my wardrobe and off to Goodwill. I have a 'next size down' selection in there and it replaced the 'will keep in case I put on weight' section. 5 carter7165, OutsideMatchInside, LauriT and 2 others reacted to this
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted March 12, 2017 I trash or donate my clothes as soon as I drop a size. No going back. I also pretty much only wear fitted clothes. Stretchy clothes are for fat people (because they help you become and stay fat). 9 LauriT, MelMac72, mackerman and 6 others reacted to this

You might surprise yourself and never get to wear them. I dropped weight and skipped sizes. A lot of the stuff I wanted to wear was too big by the time I tried it. 9 XYZXYZXYZ1955, Vinasu, carter7165 and 6 others reacted to this

Brandeis 401 Posted March 22, 2017 A friend of mine came up to help me go through my closet and get rid of everything that was too ridiculously big....that was about a month and a half ago, and I already feel like I need to do it again. hmills653 365 Posted March 23, 2017 I was planning on buying stretch pants do I don't have to replace them as often. I don't want to spend a ton of money to wear something a few months. What are everyone's thoughts on this. I'm preoperative. 2 GBLady41 and Julie norton reacted to this
msdr1 11 Posted March 24, 2017 I can't wait to do this!! The downside is I hand make some of my own clothes and to go through the effort of fitting, constructing, and styling a garment to only not be able to wear it in a few months is disheartening to say the least. K_aane 356 Posted March 24, 2017 Something to think about with clothes. Call your local battered women's shelter and donate to them. Many of these women leave a situation with literally "the clothes on their back". Especially if you have nice clothes you wore for office work. Goodwill donations are good too.also if your community has a program that helps low income women dress for success. They could use the donations too. I know many big women really dress well. It would be nice to know your good clothes went to help someone else who was making a change in their life. I have clothes I bought but never wore, in 22,24. Sizes.....I just never felt comfortable in my clothes and I so look forward to the day that I do. Newme17 3,444 Posted March 24, 2017 I'm pre-op and got rid of a bunch of clothes I didn't wear, hardly wore, and don't ever want to wear again! So, I'm actually very limited on what to wear now. Mainly tshirts and workout pants. A couple of jeans and nice shirts. Tired of wearing these things too. My church has a donation store (probably even bigger than a large Goodwill store) that they allow church members to shop. It's all free. And they only keep gently used clothing, so it's nice stuff. That's where I'll be going. Until I reach close to goal weight, then I'll go out to the department stores again. 3 Apple1, BeGood and Blondie 6388 reacted to this
