I was planning on buying stretch pants do I don't have to replace them as often. I don't want to spend a ton of money to wear something a few months. What are everyone's thoughts on this. I'm preoperative.

That is my plan also.

Yes. But I did keep one pair of my biggest pants. Never forget from whence I came!

I did the same. I kept my joggers that I wore to the hospital on surgery day.

I'm seven months out and started squeezing into 2x tops and 20 pants (should have been wearing a 22 - looked like a sausage). Wore a pair of size 10 pants to church yesterday!

Business attire goes to Career Wardrobe http://careerwardrobe.org/ which provides women in transition clothing for interviews. Casual stuff goes to Salvation Army or Goodwill.

A really good consignment store is your friend - I do a lot of shopping there so that I don't feel guilty when I shrink out of clothes - no guilt in shrinking out of a pair of $150 jeans you paid $15 for after 6 weeks. Some of my jeans now (the 12s) are going to my daughter who is a senior in HS.

I'm a member of a bariatric clothing swap, which is a great way of passing on your clothes to women who need them and getting some new clothes for your new self! I'm keeping exactly ONE fat outfit so I remember what size I was, to help me visualize when the scale isn't being encouraging LOL. Everything else I'm selling, donating, or throwing in the trash (used panties for the last one lol!)

I went to the tailor this past week and made 4 dresses smaller. Felt amazing.

On a side note, I've realized I am slightly nervous about trying new clothes on. What if I'm still too big, and get disappointed. This is my 4th month post vsg, and although I have lost a lot of weigh (40+ pounds), I feel like I maybe one more month before I try.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
