Hello all,

I just had my surgery on Tuesday 7th 2017 I was sent home on the 9th. Everything is going well I'm not hungry at all but I'm still trying to get some Protein in. The problem I'm having is when I cough...oh boy does it hurts.

Anybody else have their problem and when does it go away.

I haven't had surgery yet but thinking back to when I had my c section I remember how painful it was to cough. Whenever you feel a cough coming on, get a pillow and hold it close to your belly and lean forward a little bit. That should relieve a little pressure

Oh ok! I've been using the pillow but not leaning forward I shall do that.
Thank you!

I just had surgery and really don't have much pain.i walk a lot to get rid of the gas. Not bad as I thought it would be.

I did try walking as I do have a lot of gas but it hurts to stay up to long :( I'm just just keep trying though:)

I was sleeved on 3/1. It took about a week for most of the soreness in my abdomen (right side) to go away. Try walking and moving as much as you can. It helps.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
