I just checked her profile and she hasn't posted since 12-31-07. I hope she's okay. Buttercup, let us know how you're doing.

Atlspeedy, good luck with the appointment and keep us posted about your surgery.

You ladies are so young. I am 55 and thrilled to see how young you are. Glad you are taking care of your life so early. Enjoy Band-Land.

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I had a death in my immediate family, so i have been traveling back and forth to my home in Mississippi. As far as the weight loss, it has really slowed down. I had my first fill a few weeks ago but i still have no restriction. I am due to have another one in 3 weeks. I hope it helps. I am exercising and trying to follow the diet but its tough. Other than that i am doing well. Good to see everyone else is doing great. Good luck with your approval, Atlspeedy. I promise to keep in touch. Just had alot going on this past month. Well i am heading out to vote. I will check back in later.

Buttercup, I'm so sorry hear about the death in your family. I will definitely be praying for you and your family.

It is soo hard to lose weight when you don't have decent restriction. I hope this next fill does the trick for you. It's so good to hear from you and please do keep in touch. Take care!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
