Bogie61 1 Posted March 8, 2017 I am at week 6 post op where it is now ok to eat legumes. Is it ok to eat smooth Peanut Butter? I use the one from Trader Joe's that is just peanuts and salt. I know that I have to watch the calories.
Sullie06 1,013 Posted March 9, 2017 My NUT said that nut butters, including Peanut Butter, were okay starting in the pureed stage. Once cleared for a regular diet I was allowed nuts and crunchy peanut butter.
LittleLizzieLilliput 919 Posted March 9, 2017 Sounds like you should be OK but take it slow. It's smooth but dense. You will be surprised at how quickly you fill up. personally I have about 1, or at most 2 TBLS of Peanut Butter a day. At night after a full day of good eating and lots of exercising I will have my peanut butter while watching TV around 7 or so. I was actually kind of scared to because someone here had said to not eat it and it will cause you to gain weight due to the fat and carbs, but I haven't found that to be true at all for me. And it's been a joy to bring it back into my diet.
