PB42 34 Posted April 5, 2017 Did some internet research (which may or may not be valid) and it said that the Biotin will skew your tests as it masks the amount of thyroid you are producing, but it not actually cause any problems with your thyroid. It is Water soluble and you should lay off it a few days before having bloodwork so your test will reflect your real thyroid levels. "It only affects the test results and is not contraindicated." Just be sure your health provider knows you are taking a Biotin supplement. Next will see what the wise and all knowing internet says about Hair loss lasting as long as you are losing weight. I have quite a few points to go and really hope the loss stops sooner than the weight loss. 2 Cheryl Denk and hmills653 reacted to this
hermione53 157 Posted April 15, 2017 I was talking with my hair stylist about upcoming Hair loss (it hasn't started for me yet). I told her I am taking Biotin and she recommended I also take Biosil (not for prevention but regrowth). She said she's seen it have amazing results with clients who have lost hair. I thought Biosil had Biotin in it, but it doesn't do I'm taking both. 1 Cheryl Denk reacted to this
nomorefattypatty 329 Posted April 15, 2017 11 months out. I did loose hair for sure, and I don't feel like I could afford to, so it sucked. But I can see 2" strands growing back all over my head now. I didn't do any special Shampoo or take any different pills until about a week ago, when I started 2 Biotin gummies a day. So the hair was coming in already, but thought no harm in giving it a little boost. I am anxious to see how it fills in during the next year. Having to use powder to help fill in the gaps while it is so thin. Hang in there it will grow back. You might want to look into a spray on filler for your hair it is very unnoticeable and makes you feel like a million bucks. I tried my moms because I have thinning hair on the top, so I tease it up to fill it out and then lightly spray over the parts where I could see my scalp. It's called my secret hair enhancer and is available online I believe. Made by Regency Cosmetics, Duluth, Ga.1-800-241-5800. Hope it helps. 2 Cheryl Denk and shadowmountain reacted to this
clc9 644 Posted April 15, 2017 Anyone else have this? In past weight loss attempts when I lost a lot of weight, I also lost hair. Right before my hair started shedding, I would find my scalp hurt, or like my hair hurt when I moved it. I looked it up and it's called trichodynia. It's like that feeling when you've had your hair up in a ponytail for too long then take it down. I was bummed when it started hurting day before yesterday. Here we go! 2 Cheryl Denk and carlychloe2 reacted to this
TiredOfMyself 141 Posted April 19, 2017 I am 5 months and 22 days out and my hair has finally slowed down falling out. It was falling out by the handful. I have been taking Biotin daily since way before surgery. 1 Cheryl Denk reacted to this
