lnaj59 27 Posted March 6, 2017 Thought I would research a little before I decide on my date. The date that I want happens to be the week following our cruise in the Bahamas. Will the liquid diet be hard to follow? I've never been on a cruise so I'm not sure about their liquid options. I would assume there would be plenty of Soups to choose from but I may be wrong. And a plus would be there would be a lot to keep me busy with my kids that week.Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
travelergirl 142 Posted March 9, 2017 I love cruises. What cruise line?. food on cruise ships is plentiful. In the main dining room one of the secrets to cruising is that you can order multiple items from the same course. You want two Soups = no problem. At the buffet of course it is self serve. There should be a beverage station with basic coffee, tea, and Water. They may not have skim or 1% milk. I recall seeing yogurt at the buffet as well. Getting enough Protein with the options on board may be a challenge. I would recommend taking some Protein Powder to add and possibly some shake mix to make your own. It will take some extra focus to avoid the temptations around you. Try and enjoy. Do lots of walking around the ship. Take a refillable water bottle and protein shaker to keep you a you go around the ship and on land. 1 swacky@hotmail.com reacted to this
kins117 104 Posted March 11, 2017 I'm going on a work trip to Europe the week before my surgery and will be on the pre-op diet. My options will be extremely limited and I'm still trying to figure it out, but I'll make it work.
jopayne2 7 Posted March 14, 2017 I am 3 weeks post op. I cannot imagine even considering a cruise while on Liver Reduction. Good luck-good food is everywhere!
