morbidobesity 4 Posted March 5, 2017 Hi guys,I was wondering if someone could talk to me about their experience of 'food addiction' prior to bariatric surgery. Did you need to see a psychologist ? Or go for therapy ? How has the process affected you ? Do you think the bariatric surgery was the only option to controlling yourselfJust asking as over the past 4 years when I gained 40kg (90lbs-ish) i have lost my ability to control myself around food. Binge followed by regret, promising myself to never have it again breaking the promise etc what I eat , how much etc. Thanks.
AnneElliot 79 Posted March 5, 2017 I incorrectly thought it was the only way. food addiction is mental. You will regain after bariatric surgery if you don't work in it. You can lose weight without bariatric surgery if you work on the addiction. I would recommend seeking counselling for the food addiction before even considering this drastic surgery
