Jachut 487 Posted September 29, 2007 I dont suffer, well I've hardly even had a cold since I was banded almost 2 years ago. but I've heard others say it and my unbanded DH suffers horribly when he gets a cold -the mucous gives him horrendous heartburn that lasts for weeks after the cold goes away. It can be very irritating, so I guess its just a matter of ride it out.
victoria p 0 Posted February 8, 2009 Hi, I got banded 7 months ago and just got a horrible cold. I seem to have no appetite and also if I go to eat I make so much mucous that I just can't eat. I do very well with liquids, but only two bites of solid food until I can no longer eat anymore. Anyone else experience difficulty in eating with a cold? melmce 0 Posted February 20, 2009 I am so grateful to find this thread. I have been fighting a virus/cold/bronchitis/cough for about 2 weeks now. Tonight was miserable. I was dozing off and on, propt(sp?) on pillows - spitting up acid and mucus every hour or so, the pain is terrible, crunching on Tums (only thing I have). Then about 30 min ago or so; started vomiting up acid snd snot, to the point of dry heaves. I will definetly do the days of clear liquids, skip an antibiotic pill today. It is times like these I am so scared the band has slipped or eroded. I am glad to know I am not the only one. Go Clear Liquids. :sneaky: Thanks, Melissa
jillrenee15 0 Posted February 20, 2009 Everyone around where I live has had rotovirus for the last couple of weeks. Lots of throwing up and such. I was scared when I got it I would hurt my band, but I only threw up once. I feel lucky. When my daughter gets head colds she throws up mucus a lot in the mornings. Everyone is different I guess.
