Activity question

Recommended Posts

I'm considering having my vsg on a Friday, how likely would it be that I would feel comfortable going back to school full time (Tuesday-Friday 9-5) on Tuesday or Wednesday? Is it impossible? I'm not too worried about pain as I have previously had a Tummy Tuck and felt good after a few days with that. More concerned with being nauseous. I need opinions on how others have felt 5 days post op please and thank you!

4 days after my sleeve I walked an entire mall. I spent 8 hrs in the hospital OP, needed no pain pills at home. I was 67 years old at the time. Pack your little lunch and go.

I had my sleeve on a Thursday and had enough trouble getting fluids down that I wasn't released from the hospital until Sunday. Nevertheless, I went back to work on Monday :P I did get pretty tired halfway through the day, but nausea wasn't a problem for me. I'm sure it's different for everyone though.

Thank you!! Y'all give me hope that it won't be too bad!! I have 3 little ones so I'm pretty used to being tired [emoji23] nausea was my biggest concern, don't want to get sick in the middle of learning to do a facial on someone

I'm 6 days post op and the big thing for me is sitting comfortably without reclining. The fluids and gas used during surgery left me super bloated and it was awful, I have never been in that much pain ever.

By Tuesday or Wednesday I would think you would be ok. When it hurt to sit or be still I stand or walk and it helps the back and abdomen pain!

Remember a big reason most doc's want you to take a fair amount of time off is not only for proper recovery after surgery but also to adjust to eating/drinking post-op. You have to make sure you are getting your fluids & Protein in. Fatigue will be your worst enemy. You can't do much, if any, "catch-up" in the early days. Meaning you can't skip drinking Water for an hour and then think you can make up for it in the next hour. Pain shouldn't be the main concern - it's getting in your fluids.
