Going out and shopping at the store even exhausts me. I can barely last 15 minutes in the store walking around without getting so nauseous or feel like I have to go the bathroom or need to sit down for a few minutes is this normal in the beginning to get tired so easily?

Yep! It's good to think of this surgery like having a baby. Women typically don't go back to work for 6 weeks after delivery.

Some bounce back to normal in a couple weeks, others take a couple months. Everyone is different.

Hope you feel better soon!

I was exhausted for the first 6 weeks yet some are back to work less than a week after surgery. Listen to your body and rest when it's telling you to. Your energy will come back eventually ?

Congratulations on the surgery!

I barely had the energy to Shampoo my hair and had to take a break and sit on the shower floor before I could finish!! Your energy will come back just be patient, drink your Water, get your Protein in, and exercise as much as you can. If I can hang in there and exercise for at least 5 minutes my body warms up and it gets easier, so push yourself a little more while listening carefully to your body of course!

Try upping your carbs I was the same for about 6 weeks and when my exercise physiologist checked my food diary he said my calories and carbs were way to low. Its hard but you just have to eat every 2-3hrs..

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
