I'm Not As Think As You Drunk I Am

Recommended Posts

OK, I have a SCHppelling problem, so bear with me...

I was at the stable yesterday, and tried to help a lady catch her runaway horse as it bolted into the barn. I got 1,000-lb body-checked into a wall. At least I didn't get trampled.:)

I'm black and blue all over. My knees are two different sizes. My elbows don't match either. I have a TERRIBLE case of whiplash--I hurt from the bottom of my ribcage all the way to the top of my ears. NO PAIN in my port, or inside my chest, so I think I'm OK there.

I have no post-op pain meds in the house. I poured them out because they TASTED bad--how freakin' stupid am I ?!?!?

Haven't been to the doctor. I'm a proud member of the piss-and-moan-at-home-alone club. I've tried Aleve, a heating pad, an ice-pack on every extremity.

SO HERE'S MY sad tale--apparently I can't drink for spit. I had two shots of Peppermint Schnapps (how's that for Schppelling?), and I'm schnoockered... Weebly-wobbly, crossed-drunk... Hubby's happy, he thinks he's getting lucky tonight. Hello, have you SEEN my bruises?!?!

I WILL say that the old "apply tequila to the tonsils" remedy seems to have loosened up all the muscle spasms...

Oh well, it's only a flesh-wound...

Holy crap that sounds painful...

You might take a warm bath, and then you might want to think about going to the doctor on Monday to make sure nothing is broken...

Try an Epson salt soak. Run bath Water as hot as you can stand it. Add Epson salt, get in the tub and take a nice long soak. Works wonders for getting the soreness out. Good luck!

Oh, that was the other day. No extra calories for me for a few days.

However, it's sure true. We do make cheap dates, eh?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
