xoxococojay 842 Posted March 4, 2017 So before i had surgery i tried phentrimine and it helped a little. But i keep hearing about Contrave. Never tried it. Has anyone tried both?? Or even one or the other. Did it help you? Did you have any side effects? 1 bellamia1359 reacted to this
lisamn 15 Posted March 4, 2017 I took Contrave. The dose is 2 pills twice daily but I only took 1 twice a day. It worked great, I had no side effects. I lost 30 pounds. It is very expensive though. My insurance didn't cover, with the manufacturer drug card it is $92 for a bottle of 120. 2 xoxococojay and JThompson72 reacted to this
Ldyvenus 317 Posted March 4, 2017 Considering drugs is what led me down the WLS path. The side effects can be pretty bad, but I was desperate. I decided on the VSG because I know once you stop taking the drugs, the hunger comes back. Now that I've had VSG, I guess the same thing applies. I still want the bad stuff, and I can still ruin my progress. ? 1 xoxococojay reacted to this
AnneElliot 79 Posted March 5, 2017 Why would you take drugs after you had a surgery that removed 80% of your stomach??
tamara2333 33 Posted March 6, 2017 I previously did Phentermine and it worked in conjunction with a hcg and B12 shot. I lost 50 lbs but the one side effect i had was memory loss and i had to stay on top of it by always working my brain muscle.
triplethreat 257 Posted March 6, 2017 I took Contrave before surgery but it didn't work for me.
tinytummy17 62 Posted March 6, 2017 I took both. Phentermine put me in afib and the other made me sick.
Jen-2+1 131 Posted March 8, 2017 I took Contrave and it worked great. Unfortunately it had a negative effect on my periods so I had to stop taking it and the weight came back in the blink of an eye. I also tried phentermine, but it made my heart beat so fast that I couldn't keep taking it. I have had great results with my vsg and no negative side effects or drugs in my system. Win-win.
