NSV. Good bye forever. What your NSV?

Recommended Posts

The clothes are a big NSV. But also, no need for seat belt extenders, I have to actually tighten them now. Fitting into rides at the amusement park back in October with my niece!

Parasailing... zip lining... riding horses in the ocean, kayaking in the bioluminescent bay and hiking a rain forest! All things I couldn't have done before surgery! Did em and ready to do more!!! I'm only 5 months out, but so thankful for my surgery... made my life so much better.

I jogged. I haven't jogged in years. I like doing it just for the novelty of being able to.

I love bagging up the fat clothes and getting rid of them FOREVER. It feels great!

My latest NSV is weighing less than my husband. For the first time ever! I feel so much sexier being smaller than him finally. ;)

This happened months ago, but I still get a kick out of it: collar bones. I have them. Hadn't seen them in years. Every morning in front of the mirror, there they are.

Im just getting started dropping weight 15 days out, but my size 26 jeans are huge on me and I can now squeeze into size 20 (even though they are kind of stretchy jeans)

Booked a flight with a bulkhead seat because I won't have a problem fitting behind the tray anymore.

Christina, thanks for the encouragement! I have my VSG in one week and am wearing a size 26! Would love to be a size 20 at 15 days post-op!!

I think my Ah Ha NSV moment came back about a year and a half ago when I could buy cheap $8 pack of underwear from Walmart. I knew then that I was now officially out of the Big & Tall stores only when it came to shopping for clothes. Now I am in suites, something that I think I wore maybe three times in almost 20 years, I've worn at least five times this year alone and we're aren't even in month number five yet out of the year. I have two custom tailored suites now, I hope by the end of the year I'll have at least five more to give me a suite for every day of the week.

My next few NSV, which I am sure I can do now:

  1. Is to buy a complete from head to toe outfit from American Eagle or Abercrombie and Fitch.
  2. Outdoor Bike Trail Riding for 10 to 15 miles
  3. Do a photo-shoot. (Both clothing and nude photo-shoots. I have a bunch of photographer friends that will gladly do glamor shots of me)
  4. Actually attempt to do a 5K run. (Maybe in the fall)

Waiting for plane to take off.

Seat isn't as small as I remember it. I don't know what everyone is bitching about. Got plenty of room.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
