Fitting in the chairs in the conference room at work that always squeezed the heck out of my thighs. Now I can sit in the chair and they arms barely touch my thighs.

Also being able to cross my legs like a normal woman when I wear skirts/dresses instead of having to do the old fat girl ankle cross.

Hey I can do that now too.......It was weird the first time I did it. I was like, hey I can cross my legs. I can cross my legs just like a normal person can.

I had two recently. 1. I got my blood pressure taken at Sams and my arm actually fit in the machine. No push g or squeezing. 2. I weighed myself today and realized that I could look down and read my weight without having to back off the scale to see what it said. Yay!

Walking around the lake and not feeling winded and actually having energy.

Riding on the paddle boat with my son and husband and being able to easily paddle around the lake, and my hubby and no longer almost sink the front of the boat. 160 pounds down combined.

World's longest zip line over Water. Walking tour in Old San Juan. Run/walk 5k. And I finished ahead of over 30 people, where I was dead last 2 years ago. Hearing my Husband tell me that he can absolutely see how much easier it is for me to get around when we are out doing activities. The last 2 vacations we took were the best in a very long time because I was able to be active. I Don't mind pictures any more. I didn't want to look at myself before. Love shopping now. I feel many of the positive effects every single day and I am so thankful.

I haven't been on this site for a long time, but I do plan on changing that.

I recently started a blog on my whole WLS journey - I am 5 years out from VSG; lost 152 lbs and have kept it off for

over four years now.

I wrote a post specific to my NSVs and since it's quite long, rather than copy it here I'll share this link instead.

Went to American Eagle this weekend to get a pair of jeans, was able to shop items in the store (normally I had to buy online because they don't have "extended" sizes in our location) and found a pair of size 12 in my favorite style that fit.

This time last year I was a tight 22.

Being able to go on a strenuous hike with my fit brother and his girlfriend was big!

I went from a 20 to a 6. My low was always a size 10/12 when I yo-yoed, which meant I had a lot of "reserve" clothes for when I lost weight. I go to the thrift store constantly now because I can't afford an entire new wardrobe of smaller clothes- the victory for me is that it is so much easier to find stylish small clothes than size 20 clothes at the thrift store, so I walk out with awesome stuff now!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
