Edavis1124 3 Posted August 15, 2017 Medicare dosent require comorbs. I just had my bypass done on July 20th. And I also had Medicaid as a back up. Medicare pays for it all without any diet or anything. I was on the operating table 30 days after final Dr approval. Make sure you use a Medicare center for excellence and it's done. As long as it is a sleeve or bypass. And you meet just the bmi. If the Dr has it is medically necessary then it's paid. I had mine done at cleveland clinic. And my husband is having his done September 7th. Like I said no hoops to jump. Nothing. Medicare dosent have a requirement for diet or anything.
