I'm one week post op and I've actually gained two pounds. Been on Jello and shakes for two weeks.

Give it some time! I'm just over 3 months post op and I'm down 13 pounds. I just got my second adjustment last Friday so I am now sitting at 4CC and I think I couldn't take any more. I feel pretty restricted right now. I know I lost 12 lbs pretty quick post op, but then managed to fluctuate between a 10 and 8 lb loss...this week I've dipped down 4 pounds since my fill. I'm discovering that this is a very slow process and much of it is psychological for me. I am so used to eating larger portion and eating quickly. This band is reminding me that it's not possible anymore! Good luck!

So glad its not just me! I am 3 days post op and up 2 pounds. I thought it likely to be Water retention etc, but its depressing all the same as i have had only a tiny amount of calories and have been as active as the pain allows.

Thanks!

Hi I'm 8 days post op feel very bloated and weight goes up weight goes down. Still on liquid about to move to purée foods today. You would think only having fluids for the past few weeks the weight would drop off. I'm also getting terrible rashes from the tape over my stitches. Don't really feel restricted but too scared to push it don't want to vomit. It's been a interesting journey the past few weeks...

I'm 6 days post op, my weight has gone up and down too. I decided today that I'm only going to weigh myself once a week. I will drive myself crazy otherwise, I get anxious when it goes up, when I'm anxious I want to eat, so no more daily (or twice daily) weighing. Op was done on Thursday, so Thursday each week is weigh day [emoji4]

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
