healthyliving23 16 Posted February 27, 2017 I'm not looking for a lecture, but I'm wondering about sugar free candy. Not necessarily chocolate, even like fruit chews or something. It's just something I started wanting the last couple days. I'm 5 weeks out from RNY. I'm not talking a lot of it, just a couple pieces of something. Any thoughts? 1 Beachladee3 reacted to this
Amber Jessup 7 Posted February 27, 2017 I have had luck with some sugar free candies. You have to look at the sugar alcohol content and gauge it. I started with sugar free life savers and did ok. Some Russel Stover's sf chocolates are fine, others make me feel yucky. I'd avoid sugar free licorice, Gummy bears, and Reese's. I'm 10 months out and don't have these items at all anymore. 1) because I don't want to really on artificial sweeteners for sweets so I fruit instead, and 2) because they seem to make me constipated and that's a tricky balance at my phase. Good luck, dear! 1 1 AEdoesRnY and danaymacklin reacted to this

Martha Parker-mcneal 166 Posted February 28, 2017 I also eat them particularly at night when the munchies still hits. I don't do chocolate cause that is a trigger for me but like the life savers. I can not have too many as it gives me the trots and gas. 2 danaymacklin and Frustr8 reacted to this

Vinasu 621 Posted February 28, 2017 I like sf Werther's. I suck on one when I cook so I don't taste anything. 4 1 AEdoesRnY, Frustr8, Yare_2018 and 2 others reacted to this
CINNAMON 2015 43 Posted February 28, 2017 Hi, just eat a little bit at a time to see how your body reacts. I also eat sugar free popsicles & sugar free ice cream to satisfy that sweet craving. Good Luck! 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
QuilterGal 216 Posted February 28, 2017 Just be careful how much you eat. SF candy can give you diarrhea and bad gas. 1 Beachladee3 reacted to this

nenes78 528 Posted October 1, 2018 I personally have no issues with the sugar alcohol in popsicles, but when its in chocolate not a good comboe. Like everyone posted above just watch out for sugar alcohols, we all react differently, my wife does not do well with more than a piece or two. I might recommend trying new products at home just in case. 1 Frustr8 reacted to this
linlew 39 Posted October 29, 2018 Possibly the lamest suggestion ever, but these calcium chews I have to take for the rest of time are actually pretty tasty. https://www.bariatricadvantage.com/item/calcium_citrate_chewy_bites_500mg I get the fruity flavors so they're sorta like a slightly-chalky starburst. It's like a treat at the end of a meal since I have to have them 3x/day. 1 Wanda247 reacted to this
