mattyl88 23 Posted February 27, 2017 I was sleeved 11-29-16 and have dropped 95 lb. Question to all: I'm always cold, and even more so after eating. Anyone out there have these symptoms?Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Jdewv75 17 Posted February 27, 2017 I haven't related it to eating but I'm definitely a lot more cold now. Especially my hands. 2 ssigmund and Stephinae Howard reacted to this
carlacv 27 Posted February 27, 2017 YES!! I was sleeved 9/27 and in the last month I noticed that my hands are freezing as well as my feet at times. It mostly happens at night but it takes awhile to heat up. When I do I can go from warm to cold really fast 1 Stephinae Howard reacted to this
Lippymissy 14 Posted February 27, 2017 Always cold too! I was sleeved in Sept. I live in Wisconsin so it's been cold but I am always colder than everyone else. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App 1 Grerchen57 reacted to this
Proud2BMe 1,016 Posted February 27, 2017 Yes, it's normal. I have to keep my personal heater at work on even during the Summer. Fat is insulating and helps store body heat. The majority of the calories we eat is actually used to regulate our body temp and so when you restrict calories you are going to feel cold. Your body will eventually adapt. Airstream88 361 Posted February 27, 2017 Yep. I have a heated mattress pad on my bed, otherwise I would freeze at night. 1 Stephinae Howard reacted to this
Torriluv87 300 Posted February 27, 2017 Yup. Surgery in October and colder than everyone else almost all the time. I used to notice it when i was restricting calories or fasting pre surgery but this is crazy. I was always sweaty and couldn't wait for fall. Now i can't believe i can't wait til spring or summer. 1 Stephinae Howard reacted to this

SBowen135 28 Posted March 1, 2017 Could being cold after surgery/weight loss be anemia related?
mattyl88 23 Posted March 1, 2017 Had my blood and urinalysis and it's all normal and great.
ryan_86 335 Posted March 3, 2017 Yes! A lot less insulation. I've gotten used to it, but a cold breeze reminds me to wear layers.Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
EmmyJ 184 Posted March 4, 2017 I haven't even lost much weight yet and I'm still getting freezing so easily.
IveGotThePower 395 Posted March 7, 2017 Yep. 11 months out and still get cold. I use a heating pad on my lap at work sometimes and at home at night to warm up. Sometimes it's hard to just run into the grocery store if I don't have a sweater because it seems so cold in there. I think maybe it's getting better, but completely normal. PatientEleventyBillion 851 Posted March 7, 2017 Fat is a heat insulator. Lose a lot of fat, lose a lot of insulation. 1 MsShortyDee reacted to this
