3 weeks out and this week I'm so nauseated. I get rumblings in my stomach sometimes like I'm hungry but it's nausea that tells me I need to eat. Carbs is the only thing that makes it go away but I'm trying not to eat carbs and it's not the right kind of carbs that I'm able to get down. Anyone else experiencing this? Does it go away? It's like I'm pregnant all over again and I can't live like this forever.

I went thru this week 3 & 4..water made me almost throw up. Oyster crackers helped..just 2. I would not worry about carbs at this point..you are still healing and the little amount you are eating isn't going to be damaging.

4 weeks out and the only time I feel nauseated is when I have ate too much or ate carbs. Even a bite of carbs it just fills me up way too much and makes me feel like it doesn't want to go down so my nutritionist said to avoid carbs and sugar all together I am not having the problems with the nausea anymore

I'm still taking the two things my doctors said to take for 28 days. I hadn't thought of gravol though, I will try that. The last few days I've not been able to drink much Water. Protein Shake and broth seems the best option. Broth helps the nausea in the morning though. Maybe it's the warmth that settles my stomach. Really hope this doesn't last!

This was exactly me, I thought I was dehydrated because I couldn't drink/eat anything for 3 days, so surgeon suggested getting fluids and blood test to see how dehydrated I was. Turns out I wasn't as dehydrated as I thought. The fluids helped some but I still had nausea and my back began to hurt, which were two symptoms I recognized as gallbladder problems (I've had gallbladder problems before the surgery). Went to my PCP told her my gallbladder is acting up she said it's possible because of the rapid weight loss, so she ordered an ultra sound to check, and sure enough I have several gallstones. I'd recommend everyone getting that checked. Better safe than sorry because when gallstones get stuck or try to pass it's the WORSE pain ever.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
