Kami63 215 Posted September 27, 2007 I got news yesterday that I was approved for surgery!!!:clap2: I worked hard to get approved and I feel good!! Thought I would share positive news that you can be denied and then appeal after more studies and weight loss attempts have been documented!! My tentative date is October 17th!! Yeah!! I call the surgeon tomorrow to confirm the surgery date and schedule my preop visit!! Wish me luck, I want it to be that day because it works well for work. I was notified that my insurance company wants me to do a few things before they okay the surgery. 1) I have to take a 3 hour psych eval. 2) I have to meet with a psychiatrist and then the surgery team. 3) I have to send them all of my weight loss attempts documentation. That is where the problem comes in most of my weight loss attempts were ones that I did on my own (ie Atkins Diet, Southbeach Diet, Zone diet, etc.) I am not sure what to send them for documentation on these. It depends on what your insurance requires - i too had done ww - jenny craig - diet pill doctor - i just gave them the yrs about how much i lost and then regained- and that worked for me - but again that was what my insurance accepted (blue cross ca) Good luck Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
