I am 12 days post op gastric bypass. I had an egg for Breakfast and 2 oz flaky tapalia for lunch. Then a few hours ago I ate 5 oyster crackers. I'm still on puréed foods so I know it was wrong. I threw up about a hour ago and my stomach is still having spasms and hurts pretty bad. I assume it's dumping? Is there anything that can help? Thank You!

That isn't dumping. That's just pushing it too fast. Your pouch isn't ready for that stuff yet.

Since my pouch is so small I'm surprised I threw up 3 times. I feel like I could keep throwing up but it's awful and so painful on the stomach.

Definitely let your surgeon know. They may want you to take a test to be sure you didn't hurt yourself.

At the very least, you need to go back to thin liquids for a couple days to give your stomach a rest.

Not true dumping.. you will learn quickly from what happened. Your pouch can't handle 6 oyster crackers this soon! Carbs convert to sugar.. you overfilled it. Keep your eye on the new you! I had RounY 3 years ago.. lost 70 pounds in 5 months and have not gained back a pound of it...follow your plan..This works but if you think oh, just a few crackers.. NOT Worth it ever.. you got this!!

maybe a few sips of warm tea ( decaf) or broth. the warm helps me but we are all different. start with just two or three sips and see. mostly you just have to wait it out. hopefully it will be over soon and you can get back to the foods you really should be eating.

You need to follow your doctors instructions to the letter. I'll tell you what I tell my patients when I discharge them...there is a method to our madness. You might not agree with our instructions but unless you want complications it's in your best interest to follow them. Hopefully you didn't do any permanent damage. Good luck. [emoji846]

Please don't jump the gun! Your pouch cannot handle these foods right now. Needs time to heal.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
